October is the Month of Frights
By M. Jo Taylor
October is the month of frights
Parents are nervous, children cry
When monsters come to steal the nights
Chills in the air and moon lit sights
It is the time when witches fly
October is the month of frights
The dark rumbles with demon fights
Their weapons blaze across the sky
When monsters come to steal the nights
Children beg "please leave on the lights"
The grown-ups do not wonder why
October is the month of frights
Imagination soars the heights
Fear of a shadow, whisper, sigh
When monsters come to steal the nights
Terrors are the brutal delights
Of the fiends both baneful and sly
October is the month of frights
When monsters come to steal the nights
