September Guides Us Gently into Fall

September guides us gently into Fall
As colors start to change from day to day
When woods begin to hear chill winter’s call

In lost-sun days, as summer seems to stall
From brisk winds bringing clouds and cool our way
September guides us gently into Fall

Green trees and bushes bronze and blush for all
And slowly turn in glorious display
When woods begin to hear chill winter’s call

Scents and sights bring tender times that enthrall
As leaves drift down to join in Autumn play
September guides us gently into Fall

Leaves flitter, fall to mounds both large and small
‘Til breezes come to sweep them all away
When woods begin to hear chill winter’s call

Through the crisp, swirling launch of our recall
Memory smiles as days gone by replay
September guides us gently into Fall
When woods begin to hear chill winter’s call
